The Malaga Plan has turned the city's airport into one of the busiest in Spain. The Environmental and Landscape Integration Project is the last action in the plan and is intended to undertake conditioning of vegetation and gardens in the new spaces generated with the enlargement work, as well as improving existing ones for the use and enjoyment of air passengers. More than 15,000 trees and bushes of nearly 90 different species have been planted, new squares and recreational areas have been created, and spaces such as the museum, access roundabouts, taxi rank and air navigation site have been renovated.
