The construction design for remodelling of the siding – rail yards at the stations of Huesca (cul-de-sac type) and Tardienta was principally created to overcome the operating problems posed by the two structures in conventional-gauge track. The scope of the project also included an increase in the length of the platforms on standard-gauge and conventional-gauge track, new electrification, safety and communications installations and remodelling of the lower foyer of the passenger station building at Huesca.
