AP-2 motorway junctions
The project is aimed at improving the connection between the AP-2 motorway and the road network of Aragon, adapting its layout to the new situation created by the removal of tolls and making the motorway easier to reach from the surrounding towns and roads. The work covers the preliminary and detailed designs of three junctions in the provinces of Zaragoza and Huesca, near the ARA-A1, Osera de Ebro and Candasnos.
At Osera de Ebro, around kp 32 of the AP-2, a new junction is designed to connect with the CV-008 road and, through it, with the N-II. At Candasnos, at kp 88, a second new junction with the A-2214 is proposed, likewise improving accessibility between the motorway and the conventional road network. The final solutions will be determined through the corresponding analysis of alternatives while the designs are drawn up.
The third scheme is the remodelling of the junction between the AP-2 and the ARA-A1 motorway, currently incomplete, in order to provide all movements and achieve a fully functional connection between the two motorways. The starting solution is to complete the junction with new slip roads, whose final configuration must also be justified as the design progresses.
