Variante de Borja

Borja bypass

The Borja and Maleján bypass on the N-122 road is intended to improve the performance and safety of this route, taking through traffic out of the built-up areas and allowing smoother circulation around Borja and Maleján. The scheme will also improve the connection with the local road network and with the main areas of activity nearby.

The design covers a new single-carriageway road approximately 7.4 km long, with a design speed of 100 km/h and three new junctions that resolve the main connections with the existing network. Along the alignment, several structures are designed to maintain the continuity of roads and tracks, including overpasses and underpasses, together with the corresponding drainage works and reinstatement of tracks.

One of the most representative items is the tunnel planned under the Cerro de las Bodegas, approximately 750 m long, which adapts the alignment to the local terrain while maintaining suitable safety and performance conditions. The design also includes the signing, drainage, environmental integration and finishing works needed for the infrastructure to operate properly.
