N-125 road
The project is aimed at improving the capacity, performance and safety of the access to Zaragoza airport along the N-125 road, by duplicating the carriageway and reorganising the existing accesses along some 4.36 km. The scheme will turn this route into a higher-capacity road with controlled access, ordering the connections with the activities and roads around it.
The new layout provides for two carriageways with two 3.50 m lanes in each direction, 2.50 m outer shoulders and 1.00 m inner shoulders, and a design speed of 100 km/h along most of the route. The scheme includes three junctions, near Garrapinillos and at kp 5.6 and kp 6.6, as well as side service roads intended to channel and organise local traffic and accesses.
The most singular items include the structures associated with the three junctions, the widening of the crossing over the Canal Imperial de Aragón and the construction of a new footbridge to guarantee crossing movements over the road. The design also covers the upgrading of existing tracks and connections, together with the drainage, pavement, signing and integration works needed to define the new infrastructure in full.
