Study of road, rail and power line access to the Port of Matamoros. State of Tamaulipas. Mexico
The work covers the study of the access infrastructure to the Port of Matamoros, in Mexico, in order to facilitate the transport of special goods and to analyse the road, rail and power connections needed for the development of the port facilities.
It includes the analysis of 62 km of existing road, studying its suitability for T3S2R4 heavy goods vehicles and for the special transport of wind turbine blades between 80 and 120 metres long.
SERS’s work covers the geometric definition of the route, the analysis of its characteristics and the study of the swept paths of the special vehicles, identifying the actions needed at bends and junctions, especially at the connection with federal highway MEX-101. The proposed solutions are set out in drawings with their corresponding cost estimate.
In addition, a preliminary study is made of the corridors connecting the port with the Matamoros–Monterrey highway, the rail networks of the United States and Nuevo León, and the power supply infrastructure linked to the Anáhuac power station.
This analysis defines the areas to be surveyed with LiDAR technology for the subsequent development of the new connections, taking into account the characteristics of the territory and the design criteria of each infrastructure.
