Implementation of BIM methodology in state-owned dams. Lot 8
SERS, as part of a joint venture, carried out Lot 8 of the contract for the development, implementation and training of BIM methodology in state-owned dams, covering infrastructures managed by the Segura, Miño-Sil and Cantábrico River Basin Authorities, as well as by the Mancomunidad de los Canales del Taibilla.
The scope included the digitalisation and development of BIM models for 19 dams and hydraulic infrastructures, incorporating both their geometric representation and the existing information related to their management, operation and maintenance. The works covered the dam structures themselves and their main associated elements, including galleries, spillways, outlets, intake structures, access roads, buildings, electromechanical installations and monitoring equipment.
The models were generated through document collection and analysis, geometric data capture, scanning and the generation of georeferenced point clouds, followed by the development of geometric models and BIM models in interoperable formats.
The project also included the definition of information organisation and exchange procedures, together with the study of the integration of the BIM models into existing technological platforms, with the aim of facilitating their use during the operation and maintenance of the infrastructures and improving access to and management of the information associated with each asset.
The works were completed with specific BIM methodology training activities aimed at the technical staff of the organisations responsible for the dams, supporting the integration of these digital tools into their day-to-day asset management processes.
